1. On the lock screen, tap Forgot PIN? Use recovery phrase.
2. Enter your 12 words in order.
3. Choose a new PIN. Everything in your vault stays as it was.

The calculator disguise has no "Forgot PIN" link. If you forget your PIN while it's on, reinstall ColdGallery and restore from your backup with your 12 words.

If you can still unlock with your PIN, open Settings in your vault and choose Make a new recovery phrase. Write down the 12 new words. Your old words stop working, and your backups switch to the new words.

Then nobody can open your vault or its backups, including us. This is what makes the encryption real: there is no back door. Keep your 12 words written down somewhere safe, away from your phone.

Open Settings in your vault, then Backup. It shows each place your vault is backed up, when the last backup worked, and any problem. Backups go to a folder in your phone's Documents and, if you connected it, to a hidden app folder in your Google Drive. Both are encrypted.

1. On your old phone, check that Backup shows a recent Google Drive backup. Or copy ColdGallery's backup folder from Documents to the new phone.
2. Install ColdGallery on the new phone and choose Restore from a backup.
3. Enter your 12 words and pick the backup. If there is more than one, the newest is selected for you.

Every item comes back with its album, date and order.

The backup folder in Documents stays on your phone after an uninstall. Install ColdGallery again, choose Restore from a backup and enter your 12 words.

Type your PIN and press =. Your second vault's PIN followed by = opens the second vault. Any other sum just calculates.

It holds up when someone looks through the app, for example when you're asked to unlock it. It is not designed to hide from forensic tools that inspect the phone's storage.

1. Make sure you're signed in to Google Play with the account you bought it with.
2. Open the Lifetime screen in ColdGallery and tap Restore purchase.

A reinstall restores Lifetime with no new charge.

Purchases go through Google Play, so refund requests go to Google Play too. If a purchase is refunded, ColdGallery returns to the free version. Nothing is deleted: you can still open, export and back up everything.
